The Chip War Has Nothing To Do With Technology

 Semiconductors are the excuse. Control is the point. The US didn't restrict chip exports to China because of technical concerns but it did it to slow down a competitor while it still could. China isn't racing to build its own chips because of national pride, it's doing it to survive economic strangulation. The actual product is almost irrelevant. This is a power struggle dressed up in engineering language.
